ENGINEERING

Technology and engineering

A reliable fabric building starts with a correctly specified steel structure, membrane and anchoring system. Every project is assessed against its intended use and the conditions at the installation site.

What makes a fabric building last twenty years

The steel structure is designed for long-term operation and, with appropriate conditions and maintenance, may remain in service for decades. The membrane carries a 10-year warranty under the applicable terms; its actual service life may be longer, potentially approaching twenty years in suitable conditions. These are different measures, not a single guaranteed lifespan.

Steel frame and corrosion protection

Our systems use HX420 structural steel and the Magnelis® protective coating. Profiles and components are chosen for the required dimensions and project loading; no blanket corrosion-life figure applies in every environment.

Snow and wind load design

Snow and wind actions are assessed under the applicable Eurocodes and the National Annexes for the country of installation. Site exposure, altitude and anchoring requirements affect the final structure.

Foundations and anchoring

Anchoring can use suitable soil systems, concrete, prepared slabs or other supporting arrangements. The right method depends on bearing capacity and the structural calculations; “no conventional foundations” does not mean “no ground assessment”.

Cladding, membranes and insulation

The standard covering is a 670 g/m² PVC-coated PES membrane; a 650 g/m² fire-retardant version is also available. Fire classifications apply only to the certified product or assembly specified for the project.

Standards, documentation and certification

Technical evidence and project documentation are selected for the actual product, country and regulatory requirements. Material certificates and building-level classifications must not be confused.
