Building types and technical options

What kinds of buildings does ARBENA offer?

We develop clear-span arch buildings, membrane-covered storage and industrial halls, adaptable warehouse structures and open or partly enclosed shelters. Each solution is selected for the intended operation and installation site.

What is the maximum span?

Across the ARBENA range, widths of up to 30 m are possible in suitable configurations. Not every system offers every width. Standard agricultural models include their own range of sizes; the available span and usable height follow the structural calculations.

Can the building be open or fully enclosed?

Yes, depending on the chosen system. Gable walls, doors, side cladding and ventilation are specified for the goods stored and the way people and vehicles use the space.

Can I add insulation, large doors or natural lighting?

These can be assessed as project options. Gate openings are designed for the actual equipment and its clearances; insulation and ventilation depend on the required indoor conditions. The white inner face of the standard bicolour membrane does not itself transmit daylight.

Which steel and corrosion protection are used?

The current technical catalogue describes HX420 steel and FT90/FT150 profiles, selected according to the structure and loads. It specifies Magnelis® protection, including ZM430 for the documented system. Confirm component grades in the quotation and technical documentation.

Cost and lead time

How much does a fabric building cost?

The price depends on span, length, clear height, location, foundations or anchors, doors, cladding, membrane and required documentation. We prepare a site-specific quotation rather than applying one universal price per square metre.

How quickly can the building be installed?

Manufacturing, transport, ground preparation and installation time are determined for the project. We confirm a programme after agreeing the technical scope and site readiness; there is no universal installation deadline.

What information should I send with an enquiry?

Provide the town and country, intended use, approximate width, length and required clear height. Details of vehicles, ground conditions, existing walls and any photographs are useful. Use the contact page to submit the full enquiry.

Planning permission and documentation

Does a temporary or relocatable building need planning permission?

It may. The legal classification depends on the country, local regulations, purpose, dimensions and intended duration. Demountability does not automatically exempt a building from permits or other procedures.

Where are buildings made and can ARBENA consider international projects?

Our production is in Siemianowice Śląskie, Poland. We assess enquiries from other countries, including beyond Europe, with attention to local requirements, transport and installation feasibility.

Foundations and site preparation

Does a fabric building need a concrete foundation?

Not always. Ground anchors may be feasible on suitable soil; concrete, asphalt, existing walls or concrete blocks may also be considered. Each support and connection must be verified for the forces from the building.

Can a building stand on concrete block walls?

Yes, where the walls, foundations and connections are designed for structural forces and, where relevant, pressure from stored materials. The blocks are not a universal substitute for engineering.

How are snow and wind loads calculated?

Loads are evaluated for the actual installation site using applicable provisions of the Eurocodes and relevant national parameters, or other regulations where required. The arch profile, spacing, bracing and anchoring reflect those calculations.

Lifespan, maintenance and warranty

What is the standard membrane?

The standard covering described for ARBENA systems is reinforced PVC-coated polyester (PVC/PES), 670 g/m². It has a white inner face in the bicolour specification and is kept tensioned by the system’s fixing and tensioning elements.

Do all ARBENA membranes have the same fire class?

No. The standard 670 g/m² membrane and the separate 650 g/m² material classified B-s1,d0 are distinct products. BROOF(t1) refers to the external fire performance of a tested roof assembly, not automatically to any individual membrane or every building.

How long is the membrane warranty?

The membrane is covered by a 10-year warranty under its contractual terms, including amortisation. With suitable use and maintenance, it may remain serviceable for longer, potentially around 20 years in favourable conditions. A warranty term is not a promised service life.

How long does the steel structure last?

A properly designed and maintained steel frame can serve for decades, depending on exposure, use and inspections. It should not be confused with the separate warranty for the covering.

Can a building be extended or moved later?

Sometimes. Extensions and relocation depend on the initial design, component condition, available land, anchoring and loads at the new site. Any change requires technical review.

Still have a question?

Describe the building location, intended use and approximate dimensions. We will review your enquiry and indicate the information needed for a suitable technical proposal.
